The output of yarn and clothing of enterprises above designated size decreased by 1.3% and 3.2% respectively, while the output of cloth and chemical fiber increased by 2.5% and 2.7% respectively.

Market demand increased steadily, and retail consumption maintained growth. From January to May, the total retail sales of consumer goods by units above designated size in the country reached 7,385.8 billion yuan, up by 4.0% year-on-year, of which the retail sales of clothing, shoes and hats, needles and textiles by units above designated size increased by 2.0% year-on-year

Online retail sales of clothing products increased by 9.0%. The international market is basically stable, and the foreign trade situation has improved. From January to May, China's textile and apparel exports totaled 115.8 billion US dollars, an increase of 1.4% year-on-year. In May, textile and apparel exports to the world were $26.1 billion, up 4.7% year on year.
